Elementary solo Backgammon - Darrell G. Eson - Arvada, CO
For those that want to learn to play Backgammon can use this to achieve the elementary level player. The firmware of this item is very limited as to how it utilizes strategies to win against the opponent; the human player in this case. It is also very awkward how the human player moves pieces around the board; it assumes the same how it moves pieces as would the human player. For the experienced Backgammon player there are no, or very little, items outside the PC games that deliver a portable challenging game. If an experienced player is looking for a portable platform then one should stick with the old board, dice, and pieces and play against a real player. Lastly, the Executive Touch and the Einstein Touch are exactly the same item; just the outer plastics are different.

DebF - DebF - Iowa
This game is kind of fun. I don't like that you can't roll to see who goes first. After you have played it for a while you can predict what move the computer will make and very rarely will you loose. No real challenge. Forget trying to use the instruction book. It is no help whatsoever. It is easier to learn what the touchscreen pad items are just by using them. Also the screen is very small and hard to see your men. Having a light in the game would be nice and having a little bigger screen would also work.

Executive Touch Backgammon - Kenneth W. Sarkies - South Australia
This handheld game has almost completely eliminated pushbuttons, thus removing a common point of failure. The touch screen works quite well, although care must be taken with some of the shortcuts as they can be misinterpreted. It has no screen brightness control, and only two levels of play.

The same company (Excalibur) made an earlier backgammon game, and this appears to be its replacement. Interestingly enough, the AI in this game is not as good as their earlier version. It will be good for beginners but somewhat annoying for experience players due to fundamental strategic flaws in the play, such as giving away a backgammon by failing to move its pieces in the opponent's home squares.

Beware: Board not regulation! - A. Simon -
Beware - the screens on these backgammon games are not regulation. The points on a regulation board are supposed to alternate colors (light/dark) all the way around the baord. These screens have all white points immediately on each side of the the bar. Please check the photos closely and you'll see. For those who know the game, this is totally not acceptable.
