Ministers Chess Set Overview
This larger, more dynamic version of chess game employs a 9"-x-9" board and 36 chess pieces. Each player has one king, two ministers (queens), two bishops, two knights, two rooks and nine pawns. The two ministers flank the king, eliminating its conventional chess bishop-side weakness. Due to the larger 81-squares board (which is 17 squares larger than the conventional 64-squares board), there is an increased range of attack and more elaborate maneuvers, like one army encircling the other.
Set includes: rigid folding board with Ministers' Chess pattern on one side and conventional chess pattern on the other, additional vinyl roll-up 9" x 9" Ministers' Chess board, Ministers' Chess cloth bag and tournament-sized chess pieces.
